By having a wide selection of all- you-can eat pancakes and a large assortment of pies and desserts, Annie G’s is the perfect place to go for breakfast or to just satisfy that sweet tooth. Even though it is a typical family restaurant, the food was delicious and enjoyable along with the atmosphere.
Firstly, when I went to Annie G’s I thought that the food would be horrible seeing as it was a family restaurant. Having my dad over on Friday, I told him that he could pick a restaurant of his choice and of course, he picked Annie G’s. As soon as I went inside, I was greeted very warmly and then seated immediately. It was around seven p.m. when I went and there was not a lot of people dining there, which would explain the fast service. Not surprisingly, as soon as we sat down our waitress came to our table with the menus. If the service was going to be that fast, we would be out of there in less than half an hour which did occur.
Besides the service being fast, the meal that I ordered was also very delicious. Although, when I was looking through the menu, I had trouble deciding what to order. Since there is a huge breakfast selection and a small dinner one, I could not make up my mind on what to get. Since the restaurant is a pancake restaurant, my waitress says their most popular dish “are pancakes in all different flavors.” I saw many pancakes from blueberry to chocolate chip ranging at 7.99. Also, the dinner selection had some delicious options such as the steak dinner which is 11.99 and the chicken caesar pita at 7.99. After about five minutes on deciding, I ordered the blueberry crepes. I thought they were very delicious despite that they were a little cold, and tasted like the ones my mom makes. They had blueberries and cheese inside with some whipped cream, fresh blueberries, and blueberry sauce as toppings. Moreover, the price I paid for them was very reasonable. For two crepes and a fresh bowl of fruit I paid $ 7. 49. The prices overall were not bad, which ranged from six dollars to fourteen dollars being the highest. After we finished eating, it took our waitress about ten minutes to come to our table and give us our check. In general, I was still satisfied with the service as well the meal.
Lastly, as I mentioned before, Annie G’s is a family restaurant so the whole décor and atmosphere was kind of frilly but at the same time pleasant. I wondered if the decorations changed over time and my waitress said that “the wall decorations stay the same all the time. But on the shelves and window sills we do have decorations for fall currently and I am sure at Christmas time they will change again.” Also, I liked that they kept the restaurant clean. I also like how it smelled greatly of freshly baked pies. This fresh scent of the pies and the whole atmosphere in general can remind anyone of their grandmas baking at home. Also, outside there is a patio with desks and chairs where you can sit. You can go and sit outside and enjoy a nice summer day while eating your meal.
Overall, Annie G’s is a great family restaurant where you can take your mom and dad out to spend some time with them. It is not a restaurant to go out with your friends, especially on a Friday or Saturday night because the atmosphere does not fit well. However, I would go anytime for those delicious crepes.
